REACHING OUT INTO OUR  COMMUNITIES IS VITAL TO OUR ORGANIZAITON, DEVELOPING RELATIONSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY LEADERS, MEDIA, SCHOOL FACILITY AND LOCAL CIVIC GROUPS CAN GREATLY ASSIST OUR POST IN ACHIEVING THE VFW MISSION.
 
November 22, 2018 - COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER
 
 
OUR RECENT PROJECT INVOLVED THE MICKIE DIAZ/DR. CHARLES LANDIS 36TH ANNUAL COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER HELD ON NOVEMBER 22, 2018.  THIS YEAR POST MEMBERS HELPED WITH THE DELIVERY OF APPROXIMATELY 150 MEALS TO THOSE WHO WERE UNABLE TO ATTEND THE FUNCTION. 
 
IN THE PAST, POST MEMBERS HAVE ALSO HELP IN THE PREPARATION OF THE FOOD ITEMS, AND THE DELIVERY OF  MEALS.  POTS AND PANS THAT NEEDED TO BE CLEAN ALSO FELL INTO ONE MORE THING  TO DO AS PART OF COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT.
 
ADDITIONAL COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
School Back Pack Program, Luces de Navidad Parade, Easter Egg Hunt, Gila River Indian Community Co-Op Cemetery; Judge Joe "Pep" Guzman Christmas Toy Drive, Donations to MANA House, City of Tolleson declaration as a Purple Heart City, Veterans Day Elementary School Program, Voice of Democracy and Patriot Pen Award presentation to elementary and high school, POW/MIA Remembrance at District 3 Ceremony, Flag Retirement Ceremony, City of Tolleson Whoopee Daze Parade, Blessed Sacrement Church Fiesta de Amistad, Flag Etiquette, Tolleson Women's Club, Tolleson Service Committee, City of Tolleson Fire Department Christmas toy and food drive, Glendale Community College Stand Up for Veterans, City of Tolleson July 4th Celebration, etc.
 
This Post continues to provide support to our adopted military organization.  The Post has supported events such as family BBQ for the 336th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion prior to deployment and upon return.  Additionally, support is also provided to other military reserve units.
